    Joining the Central Committee
If you want to become a precinct committeeman:

Richland County is broken out to 126 precincts within the county. Each precinct has the ability to have one Republican representative for that precinct. The central committeemen terms are 2 years and if you do not file papers to run for the office, you can contact the local board of elections AND the Central Committee Chairman (Bob Entenmann) to be voted on at a central committee meeting to fill a vacancy for your precinct. The Richland County Board of Elections (419-774-5530) is responsible for determining whether you qualify for the position (voter registration, age, address, etc.).
The primary duties of the precinct committeemen are:

  1. To attend central committee meetings (held at least quarterly to elect party officers and fill vacancies in local elected offices)
  1. Promote Republican activities such as the Republican Women's Club, Young Republicans, and other GOP groups, activities, and candidates.

  2. Assist and support Republican party fundraisers, help the finance committee raise money for the party and its candidates and activities
